Genuine Alternative To Kennels
We offer a genuine alternative to kennels whilst you are away. Your dog or dogs will be cared for as part of our family. We have eight dogs ourselves – two Labradors, Bailey and Tasha as well as two Springer Spaniels, Holly and Daisy, plus a German Shepherd/Husky cross called Gracie as well as our working sheepdog Zak and his son Frankie; and our newest arrival Paddy, a 2 year old mixed breed who was recently in need of a new home.

Eight Dedicated Suites
We have eight dedicated suites in our house and 3 in a converted brick built stable building which are furnished to feel like a home from home for your dog with sofas, beds and radios tuned in to Classic fm. Many veterinary practices and animal rescue centres find that playing classical music helps to keep dogs calm and relaxed. puppies-1105730_1920Dependent on size and breed, the Balmoral Suite is large enough to accommodate up to 4 dogs from the same household, whilst the Sandringham Suite can accommodate up to 2 dogs from the same household. Our newest rooms are extra light and airy and have windows overlooking our fields. They are named after palaces: Blenheim, Kensington, St James, Westminster, Hampton, and our super suite, Buckingham. This lovely room is modelled on a ship’s cabin, and has a smart tv to play Dog TV and an IP camera, so you will be able to log in and see your dog from anywhere in the world.

Vale Farmhouse... we care we love dogs where luxury come as standard
Ascot, Aintree and Cheltenham
In the converted stables, we can offer three large rooms: Ascot, Aintree and Cheltenham.

Our exercise facilities are four secure garden paddocks, where your dogs can play to their hearts’ content, either on their own or with our dogs if you would like them to socialise with others.

With your consent we will also socialise and exercise your dogs with other boarding dogs under strict supervision.

“Our Springer loves going to stay with Mike and Jan, which reassures us that he is well cared for and has fun. We have peace of mind that he is in safe and caring hands. We have been impressed with the amount of space that our dog has to run around, which is a huge bonus compared to the space at other kennels and similar establishments. Mike and Jan are clearly very experienced in this area of business. We have recommended their services to friends and family, who have also been very impressed with the care Mike and Jan provide to their pets.”

Vaccination and Medication
We are pleased to take care of dogs who are fully vaccinated (including kennel cough) and house-trained.  We also ask that your dog is friendly with people and other dogs.  Because our boarding rooms are furnished, dogs that chew or are destructive are a challenge for us to look after.

We will ask for your full contact details and for you to bring vaccination cards and details of your vet for our records (which we keep in accordance with data protection legislation and will never share with any other person or organisation). We like you to bring your dog’s usual food and bed so that everything is familiar for them.  We also ask you to make sure your dog wears a collar with an identity tag whenever they come to stay with us, as this is a legal requirement.

If your dog requires regular medication or a vet visit whilst you are away, then please speak to us as we are happy to do this for you.  We will ask you to cover the cost of fuel if we need to visit the vet on your behalf.

Come Visit Us

Ttc Before you entrust your dog to us, we like you to come and visit first.  We always suggest, especially if your dog hasn’t been away from you before, that they come for a short stay before you leave them for a long holiday.

We are happy to have your dog overnight, just for the day, or for a number of days or weeks.   If you need regular day care for your dog whilst you’re at work, please talk to  about what arrangements may be possible.

We recommend the following non-medicinal products if you think your dog may need some extra help to combat stress or to settle in.  Adaptil helps to keep dogs calm. It is recommended by vets. For more information have a look at  .

We are insured for public liability and emergency veterinary fees.

Dog Boarding Prices
  • Boarding

Our room rates cover 24 hours and include all facilities, exercise and vat so you won’t find any hidden extras.

If you need your dog to stay longer than 24 hours and carry on playing for the day of departure, then we only charge a day care fee and not a whole night’s boarding charge.

Our room rate for one of our suites is £55 per night including vat and this applies whether for single or double occupancy.  If you have more than 2 dogs then there is a supplement of £10 per night per extra dog.

If your dog is coming to stay on their own and would like a room mate, then let us know and we will find them a suitable companion to share with.  The rate for a shared room is £30 per dog.

If your dog is particularly young or old or infirm and would benefit from being in our private accommodation with Janet and Mike then please do ask.  Space is very limited, but we are very happy to go the extra mile to make sure our guests get the individual care they need.  Our private boarding rate is £40 per night.

All our room rates include VAT at 20%
